LEDAS is also known for its international conferences, among which isiCAD-2004 is of particular interest. This forum took place in June 2004 in Academgorodok and included wide participation from Siberian region enterprises that apply computer-aided design and product life-cycle management in industry. For the first time in Russia, this type of event gathered under the same roof not only integrating and consulting companies, but also developers of CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM themselves that shared the secrets of future versions, approaches and algorithms in the field. Participants included a Chinese professor and an American analyst, an observer from Latvia and several directors of Russian CAD-developing companies. All the leading firms in the PLM market participated in the forum, such as PTC and UGS, while the French Dassault Systemes was represented by a delegation of its top managers.

The success of this event served as a catalyst for the creation of an isiCAD informal expert community in the computer-aided design and product life cycle management areas. The community web-site isicad.ru contains additional topical information about the latest events in the CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM world with an emphasis on the Siberian industrial region. The community is further engaged in book publishing and articles in an effort to popularize the ideas of automation, while currently preparation for the isiCAD-2006 forum is under way. Later, in 2005, an international conference on computer graphics entitled GraphiCon-2005 and a Dassault Systemes Russia Corp. company seminar "PLM in action" took place in Novosibirsk with the community support.
