LEDAS releases a new version of its geometric constraint solver solution LGS

The main novelty of the released version 1.4 is possibility of automated constraining that allows users to complete the under-defined models by paramerical constraints. This functionality is useful when importing data from the non-parametric systems since it makes it possible to get parameterized and easily modifiable model from an initial non-parametric sketch automatically. Besides that, the automated constraining speeds up the overall creating process of correct parametric models.

Professor Niklaus Wirth, inventor of Pascal, Modula-2, and Oberon programming languages, visited LEDAS.

Professor Niklaus Wirth, a world-famous computer scientist from ETH, Zurich, Switzerland, inventor of Pascal, Modula-2, and Oberon programming languages, visited LEDAS in the framework of his 3 days stay at Novosibirsk.

On Sunday, 2nd of October, Professor Wirth gave a lecture "Oberon - a successor of Pascal and Modula" at the Novosibirsk State University.

On 3rd of October Professor Wirth visited IIS -- A.P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems (Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science) and LEDAS Ltd. where, by an example of the business of the LEDAS Group, he could see how Siberian computer science (started with Professors Alexei Lyapunov and Andrei Ershov) is applied to the software development industry.

Professor Wirth has also participated in a round table on educational topics organized by IIS.

For more information (in Russian) about the Professor Wirth's visit to Russia and Novosibirsk, see Oberon-2005 and IIS web-sites.

LEDAS presented its solutions at SofTool-2005, the annual national IT exhibition in Moscow.

LEDAS presented its software products and services at the 16th National Annual Exhibition of Information Technologies (SofTool-2005) held in Moscow on 27-30 September, 2005. Visitors of the exhibition found at the LEDAS stand the information on the family of software components for solving geometric problems, LGS, as well as other iPLM components for developers of intelligent CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM solutions. LEDAS also presented its educational initiative in form of the series of selected publications (preprints) and invited people to isiCAD’2006 – Second International Forum for developers, distributors and customers of PLM and ERP solutions. Some important contacts with managing persons of such companies as ADEM Technologies, Top Systems, Russian Industrial Company, Autodesk, and others will have very important impact to the shaping of the LEDAS iPLM strategy.

In parallel, Sib3 (another company from the LEDAS Group) presented its end-user software solutions – Incident Management Systems, FreeTime, a client-server meeting planning system for different hardware platforms, and a series of smart Java applications for everyday planning using mobile phones.
