Back in 1999, LEDAS was founded on the groundwork laid by the staff of the academic laboratory of artificial intelligence. Our first contract was signed with Dassault Systèmes. The company soon started the development of the LEDAS Geometric Solver 2D and 3D (LGS 2D and 3D), a geometrical engine for creating precise 2D drawings, 3D models, and assemblies using geometric constraints. In 2006-2008, LEDAS successfully marketed LGS 2D & 3D to customers in the European Union, Israel, Japan, South Korea, China, and the USA.
In 2009, LEDAS invented a new technology, Variational Direct Modeling, and developed a series of Driving Dimensions plug-ins for SketchUp, Rhinoceros, and other CAD systems. In 2010, LEDAS started selling its R&D services to the Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) industry.
In 2013, the initial version of LEDAS Geometry Comparison software was released. And in 2017, LEDAS released its LEDAS Cloud Platform (LCP) as an easy way to build Web-based CAD solutions. After this LEDAS significantly expanded the range of its R&D services. New projects in the fields of 3D medical software, 3D CAD in cloud and Building Information Modeling (BIM) were launched.
In 2019, LEDAS celebrated its 20th anniversary and moved to a brand new 1,000 square meter office. In 2022, we opened several offices around the world, becoming a distributed international company whose staff reached 100 employees.
Now, in 2024, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, and the company currently employs more than 110 people, 44 of whom were born after the “birth” of LEDAS.
We continue to celebrate our quarter-century anniversary and enjoy new challenges. It is of a crucial value for 25-year-olds to recognize that we are making a really significant contributions to solving complex engineering problems.
