LEDAS sells an extended license for its LGC 3D comparison tool to a telecom giant

In November 2024, LEDAS, a leading provider of engineering software R&D services and developer of 3D computational components, closed a B2B deal with a renowned player in the telecom market. To date, this is LEDAS's biggest sale of its LEDAS Geometrical Comparison (LGC) engine licenses. Now the customer can use LGC in its design and manufacturing processes, enhancing its own complex hardware and software solutions for the telecommunications and electronics industries.

LEDAS Geometrical Comparison

LGC can effectively determine the identity of 3D models as well as locate all the places where the models differ. Unlike some other comparison tools, LGС focuses on original 3D CAD models rather than polygonal meshes, and works effectively with canonical and other non-planar geometries. There are many areas, from CAD and CAM to PDM/PLM, where LGC can improve engineering processes.

Large industrial companies benefit from using LGC in their internal workflows as well as in interactions with partners, suppliers and customers. The latter could be even more important, as different companies may use different CAD file formats, which may lead to some discrepancies during the product development life cycle. The need for complete control over the integrity of a product at the design and production stages makes LGC an important component in the overall engineering technology stack of industrial enterprises.

To ensure reliable engineering processes, the customer was issued a special extended license. This license grants partial access to the knowledge of the underlying computational methods in LGC and its source code. This is one of the available LGC licensing options. Other options, aimed primarily at startups and SMB companies, allow you to choose between relatively low annual fees or a larger one-time payment.
