February 18, 2025 — LEDAS, an established provider of research and development services on the global engineering software market, today reported 2024 revenues.

Most profitable source of income for the company were research and development services in the area of 3D components (32% of total income), which include 3D modeling kernels, geometrical solvers, 3D engines, computational tools and libraries. This area of LEDAS expertise generated 15% more income than a year ago, while overall growth of their income accounted for some 5% year-to-year.
3D components encapsulate sophisticated algorithms and mathematical methods, and provide APIs for easy integration into any CAD/CAM software in desktop or cloud environment. Two most important types of 3D software components developed and implemented by LEDAS are geometric constraint solvers and 3D modeling kernels. Both of them have a long story of projects developed by the company’s team, which transitioned from academia to industry in 1999, but still have 10+ PhD persons aboard.
Architecture and construction software provides LEDAS with second highest source of income (27%). The development in this area, most often titled as AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) acronyms, started in LEDAS 10 years ago in scope of the company’s largest project up to that date, full-scale 3D Cloud BIM solution for a Chinese real estate developer. The biggest BIM project implemented in LEDAS nowadays is done for an Italian customer and is dedicated to desktop BIM for both new buildings and reconstruction projects.
Digital healthcare area, which includes software for medicine, hygiene, design/manufacturing medicines & medical devices and some other types of software solutions, got the third place (22%). Orthodontic treatment planning and management, and manufacturing of personalized devices and appliances for it is the most important sub-area of LEDAS expertise in digital healthcare.
Other fields of engineering software LEDAS deal with include Computer-Aided Manufacturing mostly with focus in additive manufacturing, Computer-Aided Design, complex 3D Web Solutions, IoT (Internet of Things), and ICS (Industrial Control Systems).
LEDAS conduct sales globally, having substantial income from all the most developed world regions: Western Europe (37% of all income in 2024), North America (31%), East Asia (22%).

In addition to its main business of providing high-quality software R&D services, LEDAS also develops and markets its own CAD software components, LGC (LEDAS Geometry Comparison) and LCP (LEDAS Cloud Platform). In 2024, the company enjoyed its record revenue from licensing these components with more than twofold growth w.r.t. 2023.
