ADEM Technologies Ltd. and LEDAS Ltd. have announced a joint project aimed at using the LEDAS geometrical solvers (LGS) within ADEM products. A new 3D solver LGS for geometrical constraints will be used in the ADEM Assembly module to support assembly constraints.
Currently, LEDAS is working at integration of the solver and improvement of its performance. The LGS 3D will soon be delivered to ADEM for industrial testing within the ADEM Assembly, while ADEM Technologies provides a set of industrial tests and a shell to support the testing process.
LGS 3D (LEDAS Geometric Solver) is a three-dimensional computation engine that supports creation and modification of designs using geometric and engineering constraints in CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM solutions. This new, state-of-the-art engine can be used by application developers who need a strong variational and constraint-based functionality in CAD, modeling, engineering software, or other geometry-related applications. Andrey Bykov, the Development Director for group of the companies ADEM, in his talk on the exhibition Softool 2004 has disclosed that the main development direction of the integrated system ADEM in 2004 and 2005 will be in further application of the new domestic products instead of the expensive imported components. One of the key tasks is to integrate modules of the ADEM system with geometrical solver of LEDAS Ltd. It will allow us to optimize some of the principal product characteristics, to reduce their cost and, consequently, to make access to advanced engineering technologies and production support affordable.

By releasing 3D LGS, a line of iPLM-solutions from LEDAS is naturally complemented with a new product, whose application area - assembly, part, wireframe, surface design - corresponds to the niches that were not covered by our previous product from this line - LGS 2D mostly oriented to support of 2D drawing. LEDAS intends to equally develop and support both products; in particular, in parallel with EAP LGS 3D we plan to release LGS 2D 1.2
LEDAS invites all those interested to take part in the early access program (EAP) to begin this November, which will provide a beta-version of LGS 3D to be accessible for testing and preliminary integration.
